The milestones in my collection

Here are the milestones in my collection:

September 1995

First three sugar packets brought from holiday in Italy. I kept them at home just as a memory of the holiday and it wasn't until 1997 that I started treating a bunch of packets (about 10 at that time) as a collection

July 2001

I took part in my first Sugar Exchange Day, which was held in Prague. My visit there resulted in meeting lots of collectors in person, as well as in a great increase in my collection

August 2001

My Website showing the packets for exchange is launched. These were my first steps in Web-designing. Although far from perfect, the Webpages have been a great help in getting to know other collectors and increasing the collection ever since.

October 2001

5000 packets in my collection. The number of the countries reaches 50.

June 2003

Ten thousandth packet received from Mirko, Germany.

December 2003

The collection exceeds 12,000 pieces. Special thanks to Yann from France.

May 03, 2004

Kuba and his mother, from Krakow, PL, sent me their collection of over 400 sugar packets and cubes dating back to 1970s and earlier. My collection got enhanced with lots of fantastic old items. Thanks a lot!

May 19, 2004

Namibia appears in my collection as the 100th country. Many thanks to Frantisek from the Czech Republic.

July 2004

I attended the Sugar Exchange Day in Prague for the second time. The effect is lots of new packets for my collection and a chance to meet collectors whom I had only known from mail contacts.

October 2005

The collection reaches 20,000 packets. Due to the space it takes up, I'm changing slightly the rules of collecting - packets from the most popular countries (i.e. from which I have more than 1,000 pieces) will be emptied out before being added to the collection.
